Please join us for the June M2D2 meeting at Noon on Monday, June 15, 2009, to welcome Mr. Michael Singer Dobson, PMP, author of six books on project management, who has taught project management since the early 1990s. Michael will be speaking on "The Seventh Dimension of Project Management," which will open up new insights into dealing with project risk.
And here's a reason you really don't want to miss this program: not only does Michael know a lot about project management, but, strange as it may seem, he's actually an interesting guy. In one of his past lives he was director of new product development for the makers of Dungeons & Dragons®; he's a member of the Science Fiction Writers of America, and he owns a real Apollo spacesuit. How would that go over on casual Fridays? We'll find out when we meet for our June M2D2 meeting, in the Cafeteria Conference Room of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (South Building), 1400 Independence Avenue SW, Washington, DC 20250. Sign-in and networking begin at 11:30 AM, and the presentation begins at 12:00 Noon. So: If you're tired of the humdrum business-as-usual wonder-why-I-got-up-this-morning daily grind...REGISTER NOW TO COME!
The Seventh Dimension of Project Management
Risk in project management isn't like classical risk, where probabilities are known and where impacts can always be turned into a dollar figure. If you're a week late (or early) with your project, what does that mean? On some projects, this could be a catastrophe. On others, the damage could be negligible. Project risk follows the Triple Constraints, the interplay of time, cost and performance that defines the universe of your project. In this insightful program, you'll learn techniques for deep insight into project threats and opportunities, including new risk response strategies to take your understanding of project risk to new levels.
