Lynn Simpson, a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) since January 2006 and of the Project Management Institute Silver Spring Chapter (PMISSC) for more than six years, is a passionate project management leader, dedicated volunteer, and champion for professional growth. As the Director of Speaker Relations for PMISSC, she has played a pivotal role in connecting members with inspiring speakers and educational opportunities. One of her proudest accomplishments has been volunteering to successfully deliver two PMISSC Project Management Symposiums, creating meaningful learning and networking experiences for project management professionals.
With more than 18 years of Federal Government experience, Lynn has served as a Quality Analyst, IT Program Manager, Acquisition Portfolio Manager, and now as a Project Manager and Risk Advocate in the Office of the Chief Procurement Office, where uses Project Management to implement a new contract writing system while advancing organizational risk management.
Lynn holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University and is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration & Management from Sojourner Douglass College and is an alumna of North Carolina A&T State University.
Beyond her professional achievements, Lynn is committed to serving her community through volunteerism, helping the less fortunate, and participating in charitable organizations. She believes leadership is rooted in service and lives by her personal motto:
